Sea Island Land Development (SILD) was selected by David Weekley Homes to perform full site construction for a new townhome community located off Folly Road on James Island, South Carolina. The project spans approximately 4.5 acres and will feature 51 townhomes upon completion, contributing to the growing demand for high-quality residential housing in the Charleston area.
SILD managed the site development from start to finish. The work began with the demolition and removal of existing building slabs and parking lot surfaces. From there, our team handled all major aspects of the site work, including clearing and grubbing, grading, underground utility installation, stormwater infrastructure, curb and gutter work, and the final layer of asphalt paving. Every stage was executed with precision and efficiency, ensuring the project remained on schedule and within budget.
One of the key highlights of this project is the installation of a unique Pave Drain Roadway system. This advanced permeable paving system spans over 28,000 square feet of roadway and provides a sustainable solution for stormwater management. Its inclusion helps improve drainage, reduce runoff, and support long-term environmental sustainability—a crucial consideration in the Lowcountry’s flood-prone landscape.
