Sea Island Land Development (SILD) has been selected by Leitner Construction and the Charleston County School District to perform full site development services for the new D10 Middle School in Charleston, South Carolina. This 15-acre project will replace an existing outdated school facility, providing students and the community with a modern, state-of-the-art learning environment.
SILD’s scope of work includes site clearing, excavation, mass grading, utility installation, storm drainage, concrete work, and asphalt paving. A key feature of this project is the installation of more than 74,000 square feet of Cultec stormwater management systems, designed to improve site drainage and long-term sustainability.
The project is being constructed in phases around the existing school, requiring careful coordination to ensure safety and minimize disruption to ongoing operations. Partnering with Foresberg Engineering and Leitner Construction, SILD is delivering precise, efficient, and high-quality sitework to bring this major educational project to life.
Once complete, D10 Middle School will serve as a critical investment in Charleston County’s educational infrastructure, providing updated facilities for future generations of students.
