Sea Island Land Development (SILD) has been selected by Thompson Turner Construction to perform all site development work for the new May River Elementary School in Bluffton, South Carolina. Situated on a 28-acre site adjacent to May River High School in the Palmetto Bluff community, this project will provide modern educational facilities to support one of the fastest-growing areas in Beaufort County. SILD’s scope of work includes clearing and grubbing, excavation, mass grading, installation of underground utilities, storm drainage, concrete placement, and asphalt paving.
We are working closely with Ward Edwards Engineering and Thompson Turner Construction to deliver a high-quality school site that will serve students and the community for years to come. Construction is scheduled to begin in July 2025, with completion expected in Fall 2026. Once finished, May River Elementary School will provide much-needed capacity for local families and strengthen the Palmetto Bluff area’s reputation as a thriving place to live, learn, and grow.
