Sea Island Land Development’s 12-week summer internship program is designed to give students a meaningful, hands-on experience in the construction and site development industry.

This isn’t your average internship — our interns are in the field daily, contributing to real-world projects and learning side-by-side with some of the most experienced professionals in the Lowcountry.

Whether you’re studying construction, business, engineering, agriculture, or environmental sciences, this program gives you the opportunity to apply your classroom knowledge in a fast-paced, professional environment that values growth and leadership.

Internship 01

First-Year Interns

Ideal for rising sophomores and juniors, Internship 1 provides a rotational experience across multiple disciplines such as utilities, grading, and project management and estimating through office exposure.

Interns are immersed in day-to-day field operations, gaining a bird’s-eye view of our work while also getting hands-on experience alongside our crews. This rotation helps students discover which areas of the industry they’re most passionate about.

Internship 02

Returning Interns

Interns returning for their second year move into a focused track based on their interests and strengths from the previous summer.

As an Intern 2, you’ll spend the entire summer developing deeper skills in a specific discipline — whether that’s field operations, project management, utility work, or grading. You’ll also be expected to take on more responsibility and help guide new interns, building your leadership and communication skills.
